CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS

Camp Scholarships are presented each spring to children of Original Free Will Baptist Churches who desire to attend summer camp but who are in financial need.  Applications will be submitted to the Sunday School Ministry office by the child and parents or guardians, accompanied by a letter of attestation by either the pastor of the church or the Sunday School Superintendent.  An anonymous committee will review the applications, call the writer of the letter for verification of the need and prioritize the applications.  The winners will be notified and the scholarships will be presented at the Annual Sunday School Institute in March.  The winners will inform the Sunday School Ministry Director of the camp of their choice, either  Cragmont Assembly, Black Mountain, North Carolina or Camp Vandemere, Vandemere, North Carolina.  The Director will then send the monies to the appropriate camp.  The families or churches will provide any additional monies the children might need.

If you know of a child who attends your church and would not otherwise be able to attend summer camp, please call us for an application for that child.  All applications are due in by Dec. 31st of the year prior to the camp season.

Because of a decline in financial giving, The Sunday School Board  had to put a cap on the amount of the scholarship for camp during the 2011 camp year. The support we receive for this cause, and the number of applications we receive will determined the amount we will be be able to provide for each applicant. We will be accepting no more than 40 applications. This was the first year that we were not been able to pay for the full cost of camp and we regret having to do so.  We would love to be able to send every child that applies and fully fund their way to camp.  Your OFWB Sunday School Board appreciates your continued prayers and support.
